Short walk through farmland to this summit worth 8 points
This was my last of 4 activations today and my legs were feeling tired, so was glad this was a short walk up a gentle slope (actually I had planned it this way!)
I parked at the start point and walked through small farm buildings. There were plenty of cattle about but I kept a sharp eye and ear out for their neck bell, giving some menacing looking ones a wide berth. Most have vicious looking horns, but I found them to be quite docile (but I didn't want to test that assumption!)
The summit is not marked, and the highest point was full of browsing cattle, so I edged downhill a bit (2 or 3 vertical metres) and attached my pole to a thorny shrub.
As soon as I self-spotted I was called by Julian IN3JIB/ISO who was also holidaying on the island and who had been in touch so we could liaise on S2S skeds. He was on IS-303 and 5/9 on 40m. I then completed the activation with 8 20m SSB QSOs.
NEXT ACTIVATION: IS0/IS-003, IS-011 and IS-009 >>
